Elizabeth Johnson

Elizabeth joined DWFM Beckman in 2006 as a partner in the Employment and Dispute Resolution Department. She is an experienced senior litigator in the High Court, County Court and Employment Tribunals. Her Dispute Resolution practice encompasses a wide range of general and commercial matters such as breach of contract, director/shareholder disputes, professional negligence, property litigation and breach of restrictive covenants.

She acts for both employees and employer clients at Board, senior and junior executive levels and is regularly instructed to advise and provide support to Human Resources professionals. She represents both Claimants and Respondents in Employment Tribunal proceedings and all aspects of employment claims (including unfair dismissal, whistleblowing and discrimination matters) are within her specialism.

The non-contentious element of Elizabeth’s employment practice includes advising upon and drafting restrictive covenants, contracts of employment and staff handbooks as well as advising generally upon issues within the workplace including restructuring and redundancy consultations, Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations (TUPE), disciplinary policies and procedures.

There is often an international dimension to Elizabeth’s cases including cross-border jurisdictional disputes.

Elizabeth has extensive experience taking depositions from witnesses for testimony and seeking Orders for production of documents to support US proceedings in England. She provides a fast and efficient service working to her client and foreign court’s often urgent timescale and providing a full level support service to US Attorneys in this field.
